Aetna Pulls Out of Colorado’s Individual Health Insurance Market

On February 1st, 2011 Aetna announced that they will no longer sell new health insurance policies to individuals in Colorado, saying it cannot be competitive in the state.

Aetna will continue to service its existing individual health-insurance policies in Colorado until they come up for renewal. After that, it will renew existing policies for 12 to 18 months, depending on the plan’s effective date. Existing Aetna members should receive more detail about this process from Aetna by postal mail.

If you are covered by Aetna and want to shop for a new plan, please click here and fill out this short form and we’ll do a personalized review for you to help you find alternative health insurance options at the guaranteed best prices available.
