Open Enrollment Ends January 15th

Inflation Reduction Act - Who BenefitsJanuary 6th, 2023 – Open enrollment for individual and family plans began on November 1st and will end on Sunday, January 15th, 2023.  After that a Special Enrollment Period will be required.

For most people open enrollment is the only time that they can buy or change health insurance plans.  Open enrollment rules hold true for qualified health insurance plans offered to individuals and families through the Connect for Health Colorado, as well as those sold directly by insurance carriers.

Please note that people insured by Bright Health and Oscar whose health insurance ended on December 31st are eligible for a 60 day Special Enrollment Period, so we can still help those people get new coverage through February 28th.  If enrollment is completed by January 15th then customers are eligible for a February 1st start date on their new coverage.

Other common Qualifying Events that can trigger a 60 day Special Enrollment Period include, but are not limited to:

  • Marriage or civil union
  • Birth or adoption
  • Your employer-provided coverage is no longer available
  • Newly ineligible for Health First Colorado (Medicaid)
  • Moving to Colorado from out of state
  • Employer-sponsored coverage becomes unaffordable
  • You applied for coverage and financial assistance before April 15 and just received a Medicaid denial

Let us help you evaluate your health insurance plan options available both through the health insurance marketplace and carrier direct to help you find the best coverage at the lowest available price.  Our services are completely free and there is no extra cost to use a broker.
